Audience Engagement Research - Ma

Image
I would consider our audience to not fall into any specific age group. the rating for this movie is R, and are put into the thriller genre of film. The movies main form of advertisement was like any basic large film. TV commercials and other online promotions. Online advertisement is a large portion of it as well as that is how most advertisement is done. I would have a similar marketing strategy for my film. In the advertisement process ethos was mostly used by getting opinions from big name critics with their reviews. Ethos is used for a lot of movies and would be implemented in our strategies.

Audience Engagement Research - Bird Box

Bird Box has a similar audience to us not in the sense of age but interest in suspense and mystery. People that like movies that keep you wondering is the audience we are going for. Commercials and standard advertisement is what they did for their marketing strategy. I think it would be smart if they made a interactive things such as games. Think it's an interesting concept especially for horror movies. Again for most movies ethos is used to get credibility from known critics and maybe some actors. Social media is a great way to get products to the public and i would definitely utilize it in our process.

Art of the Title Class Activity

A well done movie opening that we saw and enjoyed was the Marvel movie "Deadpool". The comments talked about how creative and original the opening was and how it was a very unique idea. A good mix of humor and story telling to setup the rest of the movie. For the opening of our film, we might use some of the shots such as an establishing shot because we believe it is the best way to tell our audience what is happening and where.

Audience Engagement Research - Murder on the Orient Express

I would consider our audience to not fall into any specific age group. Both my movie and my example are PG-13, and are put into the thriller genre of film. The movies main form of advertisement was like any basic large film. TV commercials and other online promotions. As well as posters and billboards around populated areas. I would have a similar marketing strategy for my film. In the advertisement process ethos was mostly used by getting opinions from big name critics with their reviews.

Use of Conventions

We wanted our film to challenge what the cliches are of suspense films and add many in the the first two minutes to show what our film is about. That we are trying to be a comedy while also keeping the element of suspense.

Midterm Submission Feedback Post

I feel that our promotion of our movie went well. Overall there was good feedback and Mr. Elsbree gave us some good advice to advance the production value of our movie. People understood the premise without an explanation and people knew the idea we were going for. The advice that was given was to change up the camera angles to get a variety of angles during a scene while two actors are talking. Also the location of the office space were not as good as we would have wanted and it was recommended that we changed it and we agree completely. Overall we did enjoy showing off our first product and are ready to start redoing scenes to make it better.

My Target Audience

My target audience if I could a specific type of audience I would say it is definitely in a PG-13 range of people. Any gender could enjoy this movie, although, murder mystery may be more stereotyped toward a male interest. Income level wasn't really considered, as it portrays a middle class man there may be a magnetism toward that type of audience. Again, education level is more in a range for young adults and I feel that this type of movie will be appealing to people that love mystery and solving crimes.
